Hi beauties,
After you get to know what toned of foundation you have, now we are going to study about shade of foundation which is Light, Medium and Dark basically.
There are few different skin shades that you need to know;
FAIR SKIN - Light Ivory, Porcelain, Sand, Pale Peach, Pink or slightly reddish (rosy) undertone.
MEDIUM SKIN - Yellow, Gold, Cameo, Copper, Olive, Tan, Golden-Olive, Caramel.
DARK SKIN - Orange-Brown, Red-Brown, Walnut, Almond, Blue-Black, Ebony, Dark Chocolate
Some people tend to have dark face and light body and they choose too dark foundation for their body. So what you want to do is to have a matching face and body. You don’t want to have a dark foundation to your face.
Even if you are super pale skin and you want to add a life to you pale skin, using two shades darker foundation does nothing to your face. So add Blush and Bronzer instead not Foundation.
Another example; if we have dark face and light neck. What do we do?
Yes, a little bit lighter foundation but you don’t want to go a little bit Ashy toned, what we what to do is add life onto the dark face. So choose a “warm” foundation instead. It will also blend with the rest of the body. And that’s the goal.
And if you are trying to choose a foundation and your face is lighter than your neck (light neck and dark face). You can go for a darker foundation to make sure it blends really well. And if you have a dark face and a light neck, you want to go to a little bit lighter foundation to match the rest of your body.
If you have struggle to find a foundation to match your skin you can actually works by applying powder over the top. If you apply your foundation and it looks really dark on your skin try to use a lighter powder. And if you apply your foundation and it looks really light or pale try to use a darker powder as a bronzer not all over the face
