Hi beauties,
Now I am going to teach you how to choose the right toned of foundation first NOT the shade, because it’s kind of confusing. Shades are from Light to Dark and Tone is the different tone within that, different color ranges within the foundation.
A lot of people don’t actually know that every foundation they saw or purchase, are actually have different toned within the foundation. What’s on their mind is that all foundation are the same but we just need to buy the right shade of our skin. It is WRONG!
There are three main tones that we are study;
Cool Tone, Warm Tone and Neutral Tone.
Cool Tone - Red/Pinkish Tone which is Blue undertone
Warm Tone - Golden/Yellow Tone which is Peach undertone.
Neutral Tone - Equal parts of warm and cool.
If you confuse what tone of foundation you need to buy go for Neutral because it is the easiest thing to try.
Now where do you start when you are picking the right tone? You actually want to look at your neck area and see how it works with the rest of your face. Because we don’t see people from the face ONLY but we see from the face, neck and chest as seamless and one.
The tone of your body will be different with the tone of your face. Especially for women, we might think we have pinkish tone to the skin but the rest of the body can be warm or neutral. That’s why you want to work with the two and make sure counteracting the face and blends everything with the rest of the body. If you don’t know what undertone you have click to read more
Example;
Warm toned Body and Cool Toned Face. And foundation tone do we apply? It is warm toned foundation.
Cool Toned Body and Warm toned face which is quite rare. You actually might want to try the Neutral foundation, the reason I say that is because if you put a pink tone foundation onto Pink tone skin, you tend to get Red Tone effect. So, what do you want to do is to counteracting with Neutral tone of Foundation. Because it will contract slightly without making too red or too orange, keep it in the middle (balance) to have a seamless effect.
If you are confuse, just go with Neutral Foundation because you can’t go wrong with Neutral, it is equal blends of the two.
